Human Centered Design Reconfiguration of the UN Sustainable Development Goals

Excerpt:
“When the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were released in 2015, I remember my colleagues and I sitting around the conference table having a collective and audible frustrated reaction. It wasn’t that we didn’t strongly believe in all of the goals and the need for governments around the world to work on them. We did, but we felt the layout and approach of 17 goals set the world up for failure. There were too many goals making them disjointed and siloed. Most of these goals are all inter-related, and de-centralizing the solutions and investments would impede the needed symbiotic solutions to successfully achieve the lofty agenda that was set.”
